Salute to Illinois Scholars (SIS) is an invitation-only event to celebrate students’ academic achievements and to encourage them to attend college right here in Illinois at one of our richly diverse, remarkable public universities.
The event is hosted by the University of Illinois System (Urbana, Chicago, Springfield), together with Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, the Southern Illinois University System, (Carbondale, Edwardsville), and Western Illinois University.
SIS features:
- A College Fair with admissions professionals and representatives from specific colleges and degree programs from all Illinois public universities
- A Financial Aid Information Session (optional) from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission – offered in both English and Spanish
- A panel discussion on the college choice process, featuring current students and recent graduates
- A college success session for parents and students
- A waiver of admission application fees from all 12 of our state universities. With is waiver, students can apply for free to any, or all, of our great public universities.
